The RECCO network of brand partners continues to increase at a steady pace, and this month the company welcomes apparel and gear manufacturer Lundhags to its roster of 150+ brand partners who integrate RECCO reflectors in their products.

In its first collaboration with RECCO, Lundhags will release a range of products that highlight functional design with searchability in the mountains. The Abisku Adventure Down Parka, Lundhags’s most advanced expedition jacket, will incorporate RECCO reflectors to make wearers searchable by professional rescue teams. Other items in the Lundhags collection integrating RECCO reflectors include Shell Jackets and Pants.

Lundhags has been committed to making well-designed outdoor gear for over 90 years, and its collaboration with RECCO brings an additional layer of functionality to the brand’s design goals. RECCO reflectors are lightweight, virtually indestructible, and have no need for a power source. Every product equipped with RECCO technology will offer an additional level of searchability in the case of an outdoor emergency.

“With the Abisku Adventure Down Parka, we set out to build the ultimate expedition jacket — light enough to wear all day, yet tough enough to withstand Arctic conditions,” said Sarah Isaksson, Head of Product Development. “Every detail, from the RECCO reflector and ExpeDRY™ down to the removable harness and storm-proof construction, is built for survival in the most demanding environments. This is gear for those who go further, even when the weather says stop.”

RECCO reflectors are found across a range of outdoor products, across all seasons. The RECCO system is used by 900+ ski patrols and mountain rescue organizations in 32 countries. The system can be deployed in the event a person is missing or injured outdoors, helping that person to be located more quickly. The RECCO system has been growing in recent years, expanding utilization from winter searches to all-season use for locating lost hikers, mountain bikers and trail runners.

“Lundhags has long established itself as a trusted and authentic brand, and we’re thrilled to work in tandem with their team to bring additional functionality to top-tier products like the Abisku Parka,” said Fredrik Steinwall, CEO of RECCO. “This collection reflects our shared values around providing an additional built-in safeguard for all kinds of outdoor exploration.”

RECCO technology is a global standard used for search-and-rescue and avalanche burial detection. Search and Rescue professionals are able to utilize RECCO technology to search for people year-round, with both the RECCO Handheld Detector and the RECCO SAR Helicopter Detector. Currently, there are 45 RECCO SAR Helicopter Detectors globally, with 14 located in North America, 28 units deployed across Europe, one in Nepal and two in New Zealand.

The collection is available in stores now.
