RECCO, global manufacturer of advanced rescue technology that enables faster outdoor searches, announces a brand partnership with Strafe Outerwear. Strafe becomes the latest brand to integrate RECCO reflectors into its gear, joining a family of 150+ brand partners.

Founded by athletes in the heart of Aspen, Colo., Strafe is a brand that empowers mountain enthusiasts with high-performance, purpose-built outerwear that enables mountain exploration. Intentionally designed,  Strafe products are composed of the very best materials and coupled with exceptional fit, function and construction.

The first Strafe Outerwear pieces will be equipped with RECCO reflectors, showing a commitment to provide integrated searchability in Strafe apparel, and making wearers searchable to professional rescue teams. Designed for backcountry and resort skiing and snowboarding, key new Strafe pieces that integrate RECCO technology include the Pyramid Jacket, Capitol Pant, Nomad Jacket and Bib, Bliss Jacket and Pant, and Cham Jacket and Pant.

“At Strafe, we’re constantly seeking ways to enhance both performance and protection in the backcountry,” says Pia Halloran, vice president of product and design, Strafe. “Partnering with RECCO allows us to offer our customers advanced searchability technology without compromising the design, comfort or freedom of movement they expect from our gear. Adding RECCO reflectors is a natural step in helping our community explore with both performance and safety in mind.”

RECCO reflectors are found across a range of outdoor products, across all seasons. The system is used by 900+ ski patrols and mountain rescue organizations in 32 countries. RECCO technology is a global standard used for search-and-rescue and avalanche burial detection.

“We are excited to partner with Strafe this season. It’s a brand that has a strong heritage in both mountain culture and performance,” said Fredrik Steinwall, CEO of RECCO. “Strafe has grown from its roots in Colorado to international recognition by staying true to its roots. It’s brand founded on the unique demands of mountain athletes, and we’re pleased that the RECCO technology is part of the package their team is offering to outdoor enthusiasts who choose their gear.”

The RECCO handheld detector can search efficiently in snowy conditions, while the RECCO SAR Helicopter Detector can quickly search large areas, covering a square kilometer in six minutes. The RECCO detector network continues to grow with more and more placements being added. Currently, there are 45 RECCO SAR Helicopter Detectors globally, with 14 located in North America, 28  units deployed across Europe, one in Nepal and two in New Zealand.

The collection is available in stores now.
