Arc’teryx Adds RECCO® Technology To All GORE-TEX PRO Jackets And Pants

News

October 02, 2020

From fall 20, Arc’teryx is making more customers searchable to professional rescue your-round.

We are proud to announce that our long time partner Arc’teryx is now integrating RECCO technology in all Arc’teryx GORE-TEX PRO jackets and pants for improved searchability in emergency situations. Arc’teryx always had RECCO reflectors in their ski gear. With this decision, they take another step towards making all people in the outdoors searchable year-round.

“We have been working closely with RECCO for quite a while now but when they told us they were finally launching their helicopter unit it was a no brainer for us to integrate their technology into a significant amount of our product. For F20 we have it in all of our Gore-Tex Pro jackets and pants. We have lost several close friends and athletes throughout the years and we wanted to come full circle, make people wearing our product more searchable while also reducing risk for guides and mountain professionals.” - Greg Grenzke, Design Director, Outdoor Product at Arc’teryx.

“To have such an industry leader on board means a lot for the further development of the RECCO system globally. We know that Arc’teryx is a role model that we hope inspires more brands to go in the same direction. Together we can make more people searchable in the outdoors and create a safer environment for rescue professionals.”  – Fredrik Steinwall, CEO at RECCO.

RECCO® advanced rescue technology makes outdoor enthusiasts searchable to rescuers in case of an avalanche accident or when lost in the outdoors. The technology builds on a two-part radar system. Rescuers carry RECCO® detectors that send out search signals which are echoed by RECCO® reflectors, carried by the user. RECCO® detectors are used worldwide at more than 900 ski resorts and mountain rescue organizations in 32 countries. RECCO® reflectors are integrated into select apparel, helmets, protection gear and boots manufactured by more than 150 leading outdoor brands. RECCO AB was founded in 1983 in Sweden and is owned by its founder Magnus Granhed and the publicly traded investment company Traction AB (listed on OMX Nordic Exchange Stockholm).
