RECCO is growing its search and rescue network and its integration within outdoor product categories with new brand partners.

Stockholm, Sweden–May 28, 2020 – In response to current restrictions due to COVID-19, RECCO is pleased to announce that we will be hosting virtual meetings throughout June 2020 to update journalists, brands and retailers on exciting new developments regarding the RECCO SAR (search and rescue) helicopter detector system and RECCO’s new brand partnerships. Joining the RECCO family of summer products this year are Helly Hansen and MEC

For 2020, the expansion of the SAR helicopter detector system moves forward with the most recent placements in the following locations:

USA: Snohomish Helicopter Rescue Team, Snohomish, WA
Canada: Alpine Helicopters, Canmore AB
Italy: CNSAS, Trento

These deployments bring the number of RECCO SAR helicopter detectors to 12 units in Europe and 5 units in the Americas. Austria was the first country in the world fully covered with SAR helicopter detectors in 2018.

RECCO is proud to announce that the SAR helicopter detector is a finalist in the Second Annual Outdoor Retailer Innovation Awards. The live ceremony to reveal all winners will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2020 in the Four Seasons Ballroom at the Colorado Convention Center.

RECCO will be present at the Outdoor Retailer trade show January 29-31, 2020 in Denver and also at the ISPO Munich Trade show in Munich from January 26-29, 2020. To preview this technology and learn more about how the RECCO system can save lives, please visit RECCO at booth 36111-UL or ISPO Munich in booth B4-500.

RECCO® advanced rescue technology makes outdoor enthusiasts searchable to rescuers in case of an avalanche accident or when lost in the outdoors. The technology builds on a two-part radar system. Rescuers carry RECCO® detectors that send out search signals which are echoed by RECCO® reflectors, carried by the user. RECCO® detectors are used worldwide at more than 900 ski resorts and mountain rescue organizations in 28 countries. RECCO® reflectors are integrated into select apparel, helmets, protection gear and boots manufactured by more than 150 leading outdoor brands. RECCO AB was founded in 1983 in Sweden and is owned by its founder Magnus Granhed and the publicly traded investment company Traction AB (listed on OMX Nordic Exchange Stockholm).
